May 2025 monthly sales and use tax returns were due on June 1, 2025. Depending on your filing method, your May 2025 sales and use tax return must be filed on or before Friday, June 20, 2025. You must file a tax return even if you do not owe tax.
If you electronically pay only or you electronically file and pay at the same time, you must initiate your electronic payment and receive a confirmation number no later than 5 p.m. ET on
Wednesday, June 18, 2025. Your timely debit date selection will be Friday, June 20, 2025.
If you file a paper return, your return and payment must be postmarked or hand-delivered by Friday, June 20, 2025.
Tax returns and payments sent after the due dates noted above are subject to penalty and interest. Failure to receive a due date reminder is not grounds for waiver of penalties and interest charged for late filing or payment.

Start with a conversation to understand the employee’s concerns. It’s possible they believe their signing the handbook means they agree with everything in it. Make sure to explain that their signature only acknowledges that they’ve read and understood it.
If that doesn’t resolve the issue, make it clear that failure to sign the handbook doesn’t mean they’re exempt from the policies and procedures within it. Explain that all employees are expected to adhere to the same rules, regardless of whether they’ve signed the handbook.
Document that the employee refused to sign the handbook and that you made it clear that they’re still expected follow your organization’s policies. You can do this directly on their handbook acknowledgment form.
